Bellini Collection

Headline designed by Mario Bellini and Claudio Bellini

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Mario Bellini and Claudio Bellini
Understanding the way we sit and work in the office is central to Vitra. We all know that exercise is good for you and it also applies to the way we sit. The Headline invites you to change your sitting positions. So you can be sure to feel active throughout the day.

While sitting the golden rule is:
Changeable sitting = comfortable sitting = correct sitting

The Headline office chair guides the shoulders and neck zone with its innovative extended backrest construction relieving the spine as the sitter leans back without constricting movement.

Headline designed by Mario Bellini and Claudio Bellini

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Mario Bellini and Claudio Bellini
In the reclining position, the flexible part of the backrest construction automatically adapts, so the upper spine is upright, allowing the head to sit naturally on the shoulders. In this position the view to the screen is comfortable and guaranteed.

As a result the head is free and unencumbered, so it can think and work better.

Without any advance adjustments to the back, the Headline adapts to the individual working positions of the different users. This means Headline immediately and automatically offers every person the correct posture, regardless of body size. The two aluminium elements are connected to the flexible back with two pendulum joints. This ingenious construction guides the user harmoniously and uniformly from the upright into the reclining position.

Citterio Collection

Oson CE - Designed by Antonio Citterio

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Antonio Citterio
A flexible zone in the dorsal area allows the sitter’s back to sink in slightly, which causes the spine to lift and straighten. When the backrest is reclined, the viewing angle adapts to the position of the monitor, so that one can continue to work in a relaxed position. The construction is rigid in the lumbar zone, providing optimal spinal support.

Oson CE - Designed by Antonio Citterio

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Antonio Citterio
Technical Description:
Synchronous mechanism with automatic basic settling for the backrest tension combined with synchronized forward tilt of the seat. The mechanism can be locked in any position. Additional fine-tuning of the tension is likewise possible. With or without height adjustment (5cm) and sideways angle adjustable basic dark armrests with soft polyurethane padding. The standard version has a height adjustable backrest (5cm).

Oson C - Designed by Antonio Citterio

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Antonio Citterio
Oson C offers all ergonomics functions, but is essentially restrained in appearance. It is well suited for larger corporations with multiple workstation requirements.

Oson is a new family of office chairs. It reflects the latest technological developments and introduces a new, organic shape to the workplace. The chair automatically adjusts the backrest tension to accommodate the user’s weight and sitting position. All Oson’s functions are clear and intuitive – making it simple to adjust. In fact, doing so is fun, as all the levers are soft to touch and easy to find.

Oson C - Designed by Antonio Citterio

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Antonio Citterio
The outstanding elements are the aluminium mechanism beneath the seat and the organically shaped backrest frame, which holds the very flexible backrest and links it to the mechanics. Together, they control the synchronized movement of seat and back. The backrest slides up and down the back frame to set it to the most comfortable position. Oson offers perfect support in all sitting positions, through its synchronized mechanism, seat-depth adjustment, height adjustable backrest and additional finetuning for precise setting of the backrest tension.

The height of the backrest can be simply adjusted to provide optimal support. The range of movement within a large reclining angle can be locked into any position with the Stop-and-Go mechanism. Backrest resistance can be fine-tuned according to individual preferences.

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Antonio Citterio
The version with a padded and upholstered backrest offers additional comfort, has a neutral appearance, and with its variety of cover materials and colours, can be used to accentuate an interior. This cantilevered chair is extremely comfortable, thanks to the shape and construction of its tubular steel frame. The free suspension of the seat allows it to respond to the users movement with springy resilience. The backrest is made of flexible plastic with integrated armrests. Due to its innovative construction, it not only provides solid support to the spine, but also allows a high degree of mobility. Perforations in the surface ensure constant air circulation.

AC4

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Antonio Citterio
Up until now, office chairs have placed a visual emphasis either on comfort or on functionality. Antonio Citterio's AC4, by contrast, inconspicuously integrates its ergonomic features: The structural finesse of the extremely reductive backrest remains concealed from the view of the user.

In fact, the backrest is divided into three sections with distinct internal functions. This innovative technology is neither put on display, nor is it hidden beneath layers of foam cushion.

AC4 is an iconic object that combines an aura of elegance with uncompromising functionality.

Skape

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Antonio Citterio
Skape Highback and Skape Lowback are a family of ultra-comfortable chairs designed for managers. They can be used individually or in combination to fulfill a number of purposes, e.g. as a top-quality chair suitable for a CEO or - particularly in combination with the elegant fourstar base - as a visitor's or conference chair. Skape combines the unbeatable comfort of an easy chair with the functionality of an office chair - but the mechanics and functions remain hidden away. Skape is both elegant and unobtrusive in all kinds of office environments.

Meda Chair - Designed by Alberto Meda

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Alberto Meda
Designed by Alberto Meda this chair is flexible and comfortable. It follows the movements of the body without recourse to complicated mechanisms under the seat. This spring allows for free movement, or, in the revolving office version of the chair, can be locked in place at the touch of a button. The height can also be set at the press of a button. The height can also be set at the press of a button. The upholstery is stretch supported over the frame, ensuring that both backrest and seat have elasticity.

The seal of the two oval shells gives the plastic a new bi-colour and the three-dimensional effect because it welds a transparent and a coloured surface together without interruption, revolutionising the perception of the material which becomes rich and hyper-technological.

The Worker

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Hella Jongerius
"Form Follows Feeling" - this is the creed that Hella Jongerius adheres to in her design work. Indeed, "The Worker" is appealing thanks to its unusual interplay of hand craftmanship and technological elements. The craft-like rustic feel of the armchair is the product of the low-lying compact seat upholstery and the base form left visible, which is reminiscent of a half-timbered structure. In contrast, both the wooden armrests and the lacquered aluminium supports stand for modernity and contemporary technology.

The choice of upholstery fabrics plays a key part in defining The Worker's appearance. The seat and backrest comes with a different cover fabrics, the textures and colours of which are carefully fine-tuned to complement each other.

Alcove Love Seat

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Ronan & Erwan Bourollec
The Alcove Love Seat - a piece of furniture whose size is deliberately somewhere between a cantilevered armchair and a small two seater - offers all these advantages  in a limited space; it takes advantage of the wall panels, which are as thin as they are flexible and which, despite their compact external dimensions, give all Alcove sofas a maximum of internal space.

The name "love seat' comes from the American term and simply means a small two-seater sofa. The Alcove Love Seat, which is identical to its bigger brother in both construction and design, has been dimensioned so that it can be used by one person alone or by two people. And anyone who is looking for the maximum degree of privacy will choose the Love Seat in the highback design.

Frilly

Brand: Kartell

The new frilly transparent polycarbonate chair designed by Patricia Urquiola for Kartell was born out of the idea of an industrial sculpture transformed into an alluring ergonomic form.

The undulating effect that runs throughout the entire structure gives the chair a soft light appearance, like pleated fabric, creating a sensual optical effect that evokes natural forms: a crystal-clear waterfall, a petrified, the iridescent wings of a butterfly or the effect of the wind on a grassy meadow.

Papyrus

Brand: Kartell

Thalya

Brand: Kartell
Designer: Patrick Jouin
Thalya boasts a surprisingly simple design with a strong graphic image that captures the attention. It is a transparent or coloured polycarbonate chair made using gas injection moulding. The lines are gentle, with rounded corners, creating an "almost feminine" form.

Basel Chair

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Jasper Morrison
In the Basel chair, Jasper Morrison renews the classic genre of simple wooden chairs that have been mass produced in great varieties and number for about a century. The balanced proportions first catch the eye, then on closer inspection the chair reveals a crucial innovation. The Basel Chair's seat and back are made of plastic  and are moulded in more pronounced organic shape than pure wooden chairs; the surface is textured and slim - and thus more flexible. The combination of materials means the Basel Chair proves to be very comfortable and the various colours visually striking.

Sofas

Alcove Sofa

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Ronan & Erwan Bourollec
A sofa can go beyond being merely a piece of furniture and become a room of its own within a room - this was the idea that prompted Ronan & Erwan Bourollec to design Alcove Sofa. The Polder Sofa

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Hella Jongerius
In Holland Polder refers to the artificial land reclaimed from the sea by means of dikes and drainage canals. The corpus of the Polder Sofa is just as low-lying, just as flat, and with just as much emphasis on the horizontal. For it Hella Jongerius chose five carefully selected combinations of colours and fabric qualities, accentuating them with high-tech threads and large buttons made of natural ma

Fat Sofa

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Patricia Urquiola
In the beginning there was Fat-Fat, a multifunctional element that doubles as a table/container, from which first the Fat-Fat coffee tables and then the Fat-Fat bed developed.  Now these same round, soft and sinuous shapes are repeated in a seating system which includes different typologies: from the linear sofa to the terminal elements, from the armchair with back in two heights, to the chaise lounge and to the new ottomans.

Fat-Sofa can be upholsered in fabric or leather and is available in a double-colour version or mixing leather and fabric, where the horizontal and vertical surface dialogue with each other through nuances of shade or in stronger contrasts.

Freeform Sofa & Ottoman

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Isamu Noguchi
Two examples of Noguchi's predilection for sculptural lines are his Freeform Sofa and Ottoman, teh shapes of which are reminiscent of river pebbles. Noguchi himself described his design as "soft rock".  Thanks to its organic shape and natural tones of its upholstery fabric the sofa has a light, elegant feel, despite its voluminous for

MVS Chaise

Brand: Vitra
Designer: Maarten van Severen
Although MVS looks like a sculptural object at first glance, as soon as you use it you realise just how comfortable it is. The soft, elastic upholstery fits the body's contours, making it an extremely comfortable recliner. The frame construction makes it easy to shift from a sitting position to a lying position.

Material: integral skin polyurethane foam, height adjustable leather head cushion. Outdoor version with stainless steel base.

The Moon System

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Zaha Hadid
A continuous shape, a blend of aesthetics and ergonomics: Moon System expresses the perfect combination of B&B Italia's tendency towards experimentation and the ongoing research into the complexity of curved geometry of world-famous architect Zaha Hadid.

The traditional idea of sitting is radically re-examined to create a new, strongly dynamic angular shape: a "single block" sofa that looks like the back, seat and armrests were "carved" out of a single material. With a metallic sheen like a material from outer space, Moon System is at its theatrical best when positioned in the middle of a room. Its flowing curves appear to change from different points of observation.

A matching pouf the shape on the indentation on the front of the sofa completes the scene, following and filling in the general design of the piece.

Le Bambole

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Mario Bellini
B&B Italia is now presenting, in a renewed version, "Le Bambole" an incredibly successful collection designed in the 1970s, winner of the "Compasso d'Oro" Award in 1979.

What makes "Le Bambole" really special is the apparent absence of a supporting structure. The extremely natural look of the overall shape, and the message of comfort, softness and elasticity that its appearance conveys so effectively are teh characteristics tha tmake a lasting impression.

"Le Bambole '07", in the armchair model (Bambola), two-seat and three-seat sofa (Bibambola and Tribambola), and pouf in two different sizes (Bambouff), is best fitted out in denim, peached finish cottons or suede leather.

Tufty Time - Leather

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Patricia Urquiola
The extension of the Tufty-Time project is a more evident emphasis of the "Chesterfield" and "capitonne" style, a special revival of the Sixties and the Seventies which is a period of great inspiration for the designer.

The upholstery, now proposed in leather, is marked by a squared subdivision joined through pleats of perforated leather to ensure the seat breahting. The new version confirms the system's flexibility, not only regarding its possible configuration, but also its look.

Harry Large

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Antonio Citterio
A softer and less formal version has been added to one of the best-selling B&B Italia upholstered furniture range. More reclined back and deeper seating characterise Harry Large elements, which maintain the typical aluminium feet.

The two sofas are complemented by a third sofa with width of 375cm, composed of two elements at a special angle that makes the piece more inviting. The large round ottoman can also act as a useful table and is the perfect match for many, many other upholstered pieces in the collection.

Tufty Time

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Patricia Urquiola
Tufty-time is not only a re-interpretation of the past, but also an excellent, innovative solution for such issues as modularity, comfort and removable covers.

Tufty-Time is an informal system, with free and versatile composition possibilities. The modular system is made of an ottoman, the basic unit, which can be matched with other central, corner and end units with high or low armrests. These elements form traditional sofas, chaise lounge sofas, corner sofas and island elements a 360 degree seating soluton.

Especially welcoming in the greater-depth version, Tufty-Time becomes a meeting place, or a cosy refuge where to relax.

Charles Large

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Antonio Citterio
A very comfortable seat, the sofa is in a welcoming shelter to lie down in: these attributes are offered by the revisited Charles system by Antonio Citterio, which has long been a classic of interior design and has enjoyed consistent market success since its introduction in 1997.

A new depth has reshaped its look to meet the growing demand of consumers who prefer a larger model.

Dadone

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Antonio Citterio
An elaboration of the Dado system, Dadone is equipped with generously deep, exceptionally soft cushions, yet maintains Dado's aluminium support and profiles at the front and rear forming the seat frame base. Besides sofas, this modular system comprises end units, chaise lounges, and a large rectangular ottoman.

Terminal 1

Brand: B&B Italia
Designer: Jean Marie Massaud
The daybed Terminal 1 is the 2008 iconic piece, it is elegant, fluid and harmonic, starting from a lucid plastic body, floating on a metallic frame, and varnished with the same colour but with a matt finishing.

Its shape invites and supports its double function as an arm-chair and chaise lounge. The covering and colours have been chosen based on a desire to create a monochromatic effect that highlight its formal elegance: four colours in leather for the chairs, identical to the ones used for the glossy and matt varnishing (white, anthracite, camomile and petrol).

The Ghost Collection

Louis Ghost

Brand: Kartell
Designer: Philippe Starck
A comfortable armchair in transparent and coloured polycarbonate in the Louis XV style; it is the quintessence of baroque revisited to dazzle, excite and captivate.

Louis Ghost is the most daring example of the world of injected polycarbonate in a single mould. Despite its evanescent and crystalline appearance, Louis Ghost is stable and durable, shock, scratch and weather resistant. It can also be stacked six high.

Material: transparent or batched dyed polycarbonate.

Victoria Ghost

Brand: Kartell
Designer: Philippe Starck
This is a chair born of classic lines whose rounded backrest recalls the shape of antique medallions, whilst the seat is linear and geometric. Victoria Ghost is made of transparent, coloured polycarbonate and is formed in a single injection mould.

The chair is stable, comfortable, robust, scratch and weather resistant. It is an article with great charm and personality which fits elegantly into any style or surrounding.

Charles Ghost Barstool

Brand: Kartell
Designer: Philippe Starck
The shape conjures up stools of the 1800's and the line of the leg is rounded and slightly upturned, an icon of the classic high stool.

Charles Ghost is constructed from a single block of transparent polycarbonate which makes it indestructible and allows it to survive anywhere. It is available in three different heights: from the stool for occasional and informal session to that for the kitchen bench or bar counter.

The barstool is just as suited to closed surroundings as to open spaces and it embraces every kind of furnishing and every culture. A wide range of transparent or opaque colours allows for the creation of intriguing chromatic combinations.

The .07 swivel chair is one of the last designs Maarten van Severen managed to complete before his death. It is the result of an intense involvement with the natural material leather, which had fascinated him for some time. Although .07 uses the .04 base, mechanism and armrests, it is nonetheless quite unique.

Its seat consists of a comfortable upholstered, pliable construction that is covered with high-end calf leather. The striking open seams of the dark brown leather covering are remarkable. They draw attention to the quality of the material used while at the same time emphasizing the precise contours of the seat which despite its upholstery is nonetheless slender. As an unobtrusive chair that does  not, however, fail to exude a serious dignity the .07 is an ideal choice for the home desk.
